IDEA #1 - CTHULHU
To start off this model I used a 'Dynawax' sphere. Using both the default and the move brush I made basic form for the shape of the head and tentacles.

The next step was to add the details to the face and also adding more tentacles as well as a torso. As the idea for this model was not full body I decided to keep it to this height.

Finally I wanted to add some wings, using the inspiration from both the mythical creature and bats I came up with this design. This took longer than expected because I had never used sub tools before.

Overall I am very happy with this model as it is the first thing I have ever made in zBrush. There are a few changes I will need to make to this if I am going to make this into a final gargoyle piece. For example it would be too fragile and in the real world it would most likely break. I can get around this problem by expanding the chest and allowing the tentacles to rest against it for structural integrity. This would be attached to the side of the wall by the back of the torso and the wings, as a gargoyle the water spout would be through the mouth.
