Idea 1

The first idea I had was originally inspired through the idea of doing a squid or an octopus. After doing some quick searches I came across the mythical creature 'Cthulhu'. From this I collected some images and did some research around what I though either 'looked cool' or would go along with it. All of the images within this mood board will be incorporated in my concepts and model that follow. I really like this idea, but my only concern is whether or not it is tangible purely because its a gargoyle. If I go along with idea I will have to think in detail about posture and material as tentacles if made from stone would quickly break or snap off. This further brings me onto the idea of age, maybe it could be old and dilapidated?

Idea 2

For my second idea I started looking into alligators and crocodiles. I really liked this idea for a gargoyle purely for aesthetics. The idea of having spikes and big teeth is something that wouldn't just look good but also would be a lot of fun to model. The idea wont look identical to a crocodile as other ideas will be implemented and or exaggerated. Furthermore in terms of posture id love to design it so that it is either leaning over or climbing down the side of the wall, this would also help with the physics in terms of the water spout. I chose the picture of the lizard on the wall because I liked the position and posture. 

Idea 3

The third idea that I had was influenced by Medusa and hydra. Im not quite sure where I am going with this in terms of a gargoyle but I really like the concept, it came from and early idea I had with the octopus which was the fact I wanted to create something that wrapped around the water spout for example tentacles. In terms of that I have gone with this. I collected some images of snakes as reference but also of there fangs as I like to exaggerate different aspects of my concepts.
